About CAPLA
The Canadian Association of Petroleum Land Administration "CAPLA" was incorporated in November of 1993. CAPLA serves individuals and organizations
involved in petroleum land administration. The majority of our membership is comprised of Mineral and Surface Administrators,
Contract Analysts, Supervisors, Landmen, Land Managers and Land Assistants.
CAPLA provides an environment that allows our members to meet the challenges ahead. Our main goals are to bring together the different personnel involved in the land administration function, establish standards of excellence, open lines of communication and gain recognition for the land administration discipline within industry.

Networking Connections
CAPLA believes a strong organization facilitates "networking"
amongst its members. To ensure this we:
- Host regular meetings that address CAPLA business and hear
topical guest speakers;
- Publish CAPLA's NEXUS newsletter, which is designed to educate
and inform;
- Interact with other industry associations and government agencies;
- Organize and host seminars, roundtable discussions and workshops
relevant to land administration and its disciplines;
- Hold monthly Executive and Committee Meetings;
- Present the Myra Drumm Memorial Student
Achievement Award each year to a student from a list of candidates
submitted from each of S.A.I.T., Mount Royal College, Olds College and
the University of Calgary enrolled in a full-time land related program.
