Negotiations happen all around us at all levels. This course is intended for anyone interested in learning how to conduct productive negotiations whether at work or in your personal life.

Course Description

This course will cover the following topics:

• Negotiation is for everyone, everywhere and happens every day.
• Negotiation styles and archetypes
• Self management and the anger cycle
• Positions, issues, interests
• Communication skills
• Vignette and/or case studies

What To Bring

Participants are encouraged to bring their own samples and questions, which will be discussed if time permits.

Instructor Bio(s)

Dave Savage has dedicated 34 years of his career to management in the Canadian petroleum industry in negotiations, contracts and business development, 15 years to appropriate dispute resolution and two years to executive coaching. Savage reveals underlying interests builds powerful relationships and empowers professionals. After graduating with an Economics degree in 1975 from the University of Calgary, Dave served as Vice President of a number of junior Canadian petroleum, natural gas and mining exploration firms; including Marmac Mines (Vice President), Sebring Energy (Vice President Business Development), TriQuest Energy (Vice President Business Development), Sommer Energy (Senior Vice President), BXL Energy (Vice President, Joint Ventures and Land), Westar Petroleum (Chief Operating Officer), Ashland Oil (Area Landman).


**PLEASE NOTE: Tea, coffee, water will be served with this course. Lunch will not be served.

CANCELLATION POLICY:
- Provided the CAPLA office receives the request in writing 2 weeks prior to the course, a refund minus a $50 administration fee will be issued. CAPLA reserves the right to move a person into another class rather than issuing a refund. Substitutions can be made at anytime.
- Two weeks prior to a course, only substitutions can be made.
If for any reason CAPLA needs to postpone a class, individuals will be moved into a new class time or a refund will be issued.
