COMMITTEES

Committees are the engine room of CAPLA.  Committees do our heavy lifting with their work on the social, networking, educational and administrative events that make up the CAPLA calendar, as well as determining the direction, structure and long-term plans of CAPLA.

There are two types of committees:

  • Ad-hoc committees are formed to complete a specific task or function.  When that is complete, the committee is disbanded.  Some examples of Ad Hoc committees are:  Summit committees; Lunch’n Learn (for a specific date), some government committees.
  • Standing committees manage ongoing processes and events.  Standing Committee examples include: the Board; Executive Committee; Events; Nexus; Member Services;.
