T. CATHY MILLER – CEO
T. Cathy Miller accepted the position of Chief Executive Officer of CAPLA starting on July 15, 2008. Cathy works with the Board of Directors to implement the strategic plan and leads the staff team who manage the day to day operations including member services, as well as all programs and events.
Cathy Miller, CAE (Certified Association Executive), is an innovative and progressive leader with more than 30 years of solid experience in the not-for-profit sector. Prior to her work with CAPLA she held the positions of Executive Director for the Calgary Emergency Women's Shelter and The Arthritis Society, Alberta & NWT Division.
Cathy has significant experience with voluntary boards of directors, guiding change, creating strategies for success, fundraising and building strong teams.
Cathy coaches a marathon speed walking team and she successfully climbed Mount Kilimanjaro with her daughter in 2007.
Cathy was presented with the 2011 Consumer Choice Business Woman of the Year Award (Calgary).

JUDY UWIERA – Program and Events Manager
Judy joined CAPLA in September 2008 and is responsible for overseeing the educational programs, events and sponsorships. She has many years of experience as a company educational trainer in the Oil and Gas industry and is a member of the International Special Events Society (ISES) and Canadian Actors Equity Association. Judy’s favourite activity is laughing.

KARSTEN SCHAFFRICK – Member Services Administrator
Karsten started with CAPLA in November 2008 as the Member Services Administrator. He is the first contact for membership inquiries or membership renewals and also processes payments and is the liason for system support issues. Karsten has a background in membership organizations, IT and land administration. He enjoys the outdoors, sports, and travelling.
CAROLYNA COLLINS – Accounting Administrative Assistant
Carolyna joined CAPLA in March of 2008 and is responsible for the everyday accounting duties. She has an extensive background in customer service and administrative tasks. Carolyna is a member of the Nova Scotia Quarter Horse Racing Commission and her favourite pastime is riding horses and camping.

HASINA SUNNY "Sunny" – Administrative Assistant
Sunny joined CAPLA in October 2010 and is responsible for assisting in Administrative, Educational Programs & Events duties. She has an extensive background in customer service and administrative tasks. Her favourite pastime is reading books, travelling and shopping.
